About Us
Ferndean Farm brings together the cause of sustainability in unique ways. As a hydroponic farm set in rural Vermont, the latest technology is used to grow healthy food year-round. My purpose is to build a community-school learning model by using my Ferndean Farm for educational purposes.
This homegrown solution utilizes the unique circumstances of this community to develop a viable working relationship with local stakeholders. In this way, the term sustainability takes on a clarified definition. Since sustainability is precisely about continuance into the future, there can be no talk of the future without making young people our partners. The cause of sustainability will require creative responses that bring together disparate aspects of our human condition. The ultimate goal of this project is to have students as partners to face the challenge of sustainability. Through this collaboration, students and the community grow agro-tech and entrepreneurial skills by working in/with the hydroponics farm. This plan will outline how students earn high school graduation credit in this real-world setting and provide food for our community.
We offer a diverse variety of fresh produce throughout the entire year. Our selection will include subscriptions, microgreens, a wide range of leafy greens, aromatic herbs, vibrant edible flowers, and much more to delight our customers.
